UK Regulator Ofcom Launches New Crackdown on Adult Sites Failing Age-Verification Rules

September 12, 2025

LONDON — The United Kingdom’s digital regulator Ofcom has announced a new wave of enforcement investigations targeting global adult websites that have allegedly failed to comply with the country’s age verification requirements.

According to Ofcom, the investigation will cover at least22 adult tube sites operated by five parent companies worldwide, which collectively attract over 8 million unique UK visitors every month.

High-Risk Sites Under Review

In a statement released Thursday, Ofcom explained that these websites were prioritized based on risk of harm and a surge in user traffic since the July 25 deadline for age-verification compliance.

The companies under investigation include: Cyberitic, LLC, Web Prime Inc., Youngtek Solutions Ltd., ZD Media s.r.o. The unnamed operator of xgroovy.com

Investigators noted that many of these websites appear to be clone sites, built using master scripts designed to monetize traffic—a common tactic in the adult affiliate marketing sector.

For example, Web Prime Inc. operates a network of popular adult sites such as: anysex.com, fapality.com, mylust.com, xcafe.com, yourlust.com

Two of these sites even share similar designs, reinforcing concerns about networked cloning practices.

Expanding Investigations into Other Companies

Alongside the initial group, Ofcom has expanded its scrutiny to include:

  • 8579     LLC – a company operating similarly designed adult websites.
  • Itai     Tech Ltd. – the Norwich-based operator of Undress.cc, a     controversial deepfake “nudify” application.

The regulator is not only assessing whether these companies have implemented age checks for pornographic content but also investigating whether they have failed to respond to statutory information requests.

“We are now also investigating whether they have failed to respond adequately to statutory information requests from Ofcom,” the regulator’s statement confirmed.

Why It Matters

This marks one of the UK’s most significant regulatory crackdowns on adult content providers since the Online Safety Act began enforcement. If violations are proven, these companies could face substantial fines, increased monitoring, and possible blocking of non-compliant websites for UK users.
